The mission of The Hospital Cooperative is to strengthen regional health care by providing support and increasing value to members through shared resources, knowledge and information. With guidance from an executive board of 13 hospital leaders, the staff members of The Hospital Cooperative plan and organize programs and activities that enable member hospitals to accomplish more together than would be possible alone.

This organization (part of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare) promotes access to quality healthcare for people in Idaho. These offices help rural and under served Idaho communities improve healthcare access by providing technical assistance, data, and resources, by strengthening workforce recruitment and retention efforts, providing educational workshops and identifying healthcare workforce shortage areas.

The Rural Assistance Program (RAC) is a product of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Rural Initiative and was established in December 2002 as a rural health and human services “information portal.” RAC helps rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents.

The mission of the Idaho Hospital Association is to provide leadership in health policy and advocacy and to provide comprehensive member services that strengthen Idaho hospitals’ viability and capacity to best serve their communities.

Bengal Pharmacy, LLC, owned by the Idaho State University Foundation, opened Idaho’s first-ever full-service telepharmacy on June 20 in Arco, Idaho. The pharmacy, in partnership with the Lost Rivers Medical Center, will utilize innovative technology to provide critical health care access to one of the state’s many rural communities, while also providing hands-on experience for ISU’s pharmacy students.
